The biggest highlight of Kuala Lumpur City Gallery is the showcase of the largest masterpiece of Kuala Lumpur City Model, measuring a mega 40ft x 50ft! Near completion, this miniature model showcases the present and future developments of Kuala Lumpur. It is currently open for public viewing, and is must-visit for all locals and tourists who would like to see Kuala Lumpur in totality from a different perspective.
At a scale of 1:1500, every tiny detail of Kuala Lumpur's architecture is retained in the model. This massive project took ARCH 6 months just to conduct research on all the buildings and architecture in Kuala Lumpur. ARCH's effort consists of a team of researchers and photographers out in the field to obtain detailed information of each building and take clear images of the whole of Kuala Lumpur from many angles, including bird-eye views. Skilled model makers then painstakingly assembled each part and piece by hand to form the buildings.
Consisting of more than 500 buildings in total up to progress, various materials such as acrylic, crystal, boards, veneer wood, and ABS were used to give the model a rich texture. Once fully completed, there will be more than 3000 buildings sitting on this model.
A first-of-its-kind in Malaysia, an advanced multimedia system such as synchronised LEDs, projectors, and audio system was also added onto the model. A total of 30,000 LED lights were used in this project. Completion of the whole project is set for FEBRUARY 2013. We welcome you to witness this massive attraction at Kuala Lumpur City Gallery!
